Associate Creative Director at BURKE

In this role, you will serve as a creative leader and work closely with all team disciplines in the agency while keeping direct contact with the Account team and Project Manager. The ACD will manage high-level creative concepts, visual support and original design for all creative campaigns, video marketing efforts, and website design & development. Additionally, they will support all ongoing projects spanning each discipline, with the assistance of each department head.

As our Associate Creative Director your responsibilities include:

  • Being a creative leader that supports BURKE’s vision and be a professional creative component that works to advance all discipline efforts and output.
  • High-level of professional and personal expertise to mentor the creative team as a whole and encourage their professional growth.
  • To review and conduct ethical business practices in the office while making sure all work for clients is at a high, above-average standard.
  • Review and communicate clearly, through feedback, on creative briefs and brand briefs to make sure creative direction is clear and on-target for the client’s deliverables and meets expectations.
  • Manage delivery of information between the AE’s and design team to ensure clear communication and accountability of staff in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist BURKE with new business that is within goals for company growth-to become a top national creative marketing agency located in Charlotte, NC
  • Support and engage with the company culture and fellow employees
  • Serve as a mentor to all members of the agency
  • Lead BURKE as part of the Leadership Team and strategize for future growth as an entire creative team while supporting the vision, mission and core values of BURKE Communications.
  • Support “The BURKE Way” for giving back to the community, employees, partners and clients
  • Help grow and build an ongoing stronger team internally and externally on a consistent basis
  • Exceed client expectations with a reasonable amount of ROI for the agency and client’s investment of the work we produce and deliver
  • Use expertise to help guide the agency’s process to better streamline projects and deliverables in an accountable manner which includes time tracking and support on billable hours.
  • Continue to expand the BURKE brand message and consistency supporting new business pitches, news, partnerships, community service, social media and the www.weareburke.com website
  • Engage and be involved with the employees at BURKE in a professional manner
  • To continue to be creative and open-minded to educating yourself as an ACD, leader and designer so that you are constantly pushing yourself to be better while delivering original and purposeful work for overall client success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, Digital Communications or related field (BCA, BFA or BA)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of design experience
  • Agency experience leading a design team of at least 5 years
  • Experience with Asana, or other web-based project management software’s a plus
  • Digital, Video and Web knowledge

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Self-motivated team player and leader with a positive outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work within a team and across departments
  • Possess time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated track record of detail-oriented execution of digital and/or marketing initiatives

Digital Marketing Intern

BURKE is looking for a motivated Digital Marketing Intern to assist on a wide range of digital projects. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work with our digital team to help execute and analyze digital campaigns. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience and build your resume and portfolio in the growing field of digital marketing.

Essential functions include:

  • Work with our team to develop and implement digital campaigns through paid media, search engine marketing, and social media
  • Assist with client website changes and optimizations
  • Assist in the creation of monthly analytics reports using different digital programs
  • Implementing SEO best practices
  • Website optimization research and analysis
  • Ongoing exploration of digital marketing tools to better serve our clients, as well as staying up-to-date on the ever-changing industry

Skills Required:

  • Marketing background in college and/or agency experience
  • A thorough understanding of MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Basic understanding of SEO and SEM
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with a variety of digital platforms. This includes: all Social media channels, Google Ads, Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with InDesign
  • A passionate, positive and eager-to-learn attitude

Preferred but not required:

  • Website editing experience

Web Design Intern

BURKE is looking for a motivated Web Design Intern to assist on a wide range of web projects. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work with our teams in designing, building and maintaining client websites. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience and build your resume and portfolio. Essential functions include:

  • Create design elements, comps, templates and finished solutions.
  • Conduct website testing and optimization.
  • Provide design maintenance of websites.
  • Participate in efforts to improve quality of websites and web applications.

Full-time or Part-time. Flexible hours (15-20+ hours/week).

Minimum Skill Set:
HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud

Account Coordinator Intern

We are looking for a go-getter for an Account Coordinator intern position. If you have a strong interest in working in advertising and gaining project management experience, then this is the internship for you!

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work directly with the CEO of the Agency as well as assist the Account Service team and the Content Marketing Specialist as needed on various client accounts. Duties include but are not limited to research, client meetings, social media & marketing planning and helping with various client projects – doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

Skills and Requirements

  • Current college student (or recent graduate) majoring in PR, Marketing, English, Communications or related field
  • Ability to commit to a full time internship (for at least 3 months; hours can be discussed)
  • Strong grasp of the Advertising/Marketing and New Business industries and solid understanding of key social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Impeccable writing and research skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good listener/ability to take detailed notes
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, including trade journals, blogs, relevant websites, research reports and white papers
